Commercial shampoos achieve outstanding aesthetic effects in the short term, but at what cost? All conventional products without a natural or organic certification contain ingredients derived from petroleum and many of them are unsafe due to their irritating or endocrine effects.

To avoid unhealthy chemical ingredients, it makes sense to make your own natural, homemade shampoo. You can do this by selecting the ingredients with the right properties for your hair type.

Soap-based shampoo

To make a soap-based shampoo, you need natural soap, olive soap, or marseille type soap. To make the shampoo base liquid soap :

  • Grate 15 g of soap and mix with 250 ml of boiling distilled water.
  • Stir gently until the soap flakes have dissolved.

Ingredients:

  • 370 ml of water
  • 1 natural olive oil soap

Elaboration:

  1. Bring 250 ml of water to a boil and pour it over the nettle leaves. Let the infusion rest in the closed pot for a quarter of an hour.
  2. Heat the remaining 120 ml of water and pour it into a bowl. Grate the natural soap with a kitchen grater. You should grate enough soap to create a thick solution in the water.
