5 Recipes With Plum For Sweet Or Savory Dishes

The plums are a very misunderstood fruit, and see that there are colors, all lovely, super sweet … but are reputed to be fruit for older people and having trouble going to the bathroom.   2. When it cools, beat it with the mixer, adding the coconut milk, cream and vanilla.
  3. Leave the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  4. Transfer the mixture to your ice cream machine and do it according to the instructions on the machine.
  5. Store the leftovers in a closed container in the freezer.

4. Korma tofu with plums

And in savory dishes? Fresh plums can be used to make delicious sauces, or dried plums for stews, stews and curries. This is an example of how to use plums in savory dishes.

Ingredients:

  • 250 g of hard tofu
  • 12 dried plums
  • 50 g raw cashews
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 soy yogurt (natural, unsweetened or flavored)
  • 20 g of fresh coriander approximately
  • ½ teaspoon of salt

preparation:

  1. Cut the tofu into small cubes and brown it with the olive oil.
  2. Finely chop the onion and add it, stirring occasionally.
  3. When the onion is translucent, add the spices, chop the tomato and add it. Also add the salt.
  4. Cut the plums in half and add them to the pan.
  5. Add the yogurt and 1 cup of water and mix well. Put it on high heat until it starts to boil and lower the heat.
  6. Let it reduce until it is rather creamy.
  7. Chop the cilantro and put it on top when serving.

Plum Biryani

And another example of a recipe with salty plums.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (whole)
  • 1 tablespoon minced or grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 8 dried plums
  • 1 red chili, minced
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • Fresh coriander to serve

preparation:

  1. Chop the onion very finely and put it in the oil. When it is translucent, add the cinnamon and the rest of the spices and let it toast everything together. Add the garlic, chili, halved plums, and rice and mix.
  2. Add 2.5 cups of water and put it on high heat, covered. When it starts to boil, put it on a low heat until there is no water left.
  3. Turn off the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Sponge the rice with a fork, add the cilantro and serve hot.
